Vacancy available: sand plant operator (Alaska)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Bristol Bay Borough, Alaska. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Requirements: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection On the job you will handle: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
