Now hiring: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. The job is at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. The role involves: • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal Requirements: • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
