Argon welding operator — Claiborne Parish

You should have: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage The role involves TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise.
