Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welder in Florence County, Wisconsin. The job is on a structural steel site. Ideal candidate: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety Day to day you will strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run.
