Overlocker operator — Essex County

We are recruiting: we are hiring an overlocker operator in Essex County, Massachusetts. You will be based in a sampling and tailoring workshop. On a typical shift you will press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line. Requirements: • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance Meals and transport allowance provided.
