Ironing operator — Goochland County

Vacancy available: we are hiring an ironing operator in Goochland County, Virginia. You will be based in a busy laundry. You should have: • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep The role involves shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; meet the daily piece target without damaging garments; use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics; check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots; hang or fold pressed garments and pass them to packing; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press. 3+ years on the tools preferred.
