Vacancy available: abattoir worker (Wales)

Great opportunity: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Torfaen County Borough, Wales. You will be based in a hotel or restaurant butchery. On the job you will handle: • Keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools • Run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone • Season and marinate meat on request • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone Ideal candidate: • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling Full-time with occasional weekends.
