Sample machinist — Northampton County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a sample machinist in Northampton County, North Carolina. You will work at a knitwear stitching unit. What we are looking for: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown On a typical shift you will match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality. 2+ years on the tools preferred.
