Immediate opening: single needle operator (Virginia)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a single needle operator in Surry County, Virginia. The job is in a small denim manufacturing unit. On the job you will handle: • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching You should have: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. Rotating shifts. Overtime paid at a premium rate. $3,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Contact us to fix an interview.
