Great opportunity: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Monroe County, Indiana. The job is at an aluminium die-casting plant. You should have: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings On a typical shift you will operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges. Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. $170 per day, negotiable for the right hands. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Full-time with occasional weekends.
