Immediate opening: we are hiring a crane operator in Macoupin County, Illinois. You will be based at a stone quarry. Ideal candidate: • Able to read levels, pegs and basic site drawings • Awareness of site safety, PPE and lifting procedures • Able to operate excavator, loader and dozer confidently Day-to-day duties: • Grease the pins, bushings and slew ring at the start of each shift • Read site drawings and follow the batter and slope profiles • Operate the boom, stick and bucket to dig, lift and place material • Keep a safe distance from excavation edges and overhead lines • Load trucks with spoil, aggregate and overburden using the bucket • Level and grade the road sub-base to the surveyor's pegs and string lines Part-time with flexible hours.
