Urgent requirement: we are hiring a blocklayer in Lincoln County, Nevada. The role involves: • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go Requirements: • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
