Core maker — Bennington County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a core maker in Bennington County, Vermont. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Day to day you will shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings. 6+ years on the tools preferred.
