Great opportunity: we are hiring a counter butcher in Iberia Parish, Louisiana. You will be based at a wholesale meat market. What we are looking for: • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Clean, presentable and friendly at the counter Your main tasks: • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Weigh, price and label cuts for the display case • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts. We offer $3,500 per month plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
