Lathe programmer-operator — New York County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a lathe programmer-operator in New York County, New York. You will be based at an auto-components manufacturing unit. Day-to-day duties: • Write and edit G-code programs at the control • Load and index turning tools in the turret • Set tool offsets and establish work zero (G54) • Adjust feeds and speeds to control the surface finish • Set up workpieces in three-jaw chucks and collets • Run facing, turning, boring, grooving and threading cycles What we are looking for: • Confident with micrometers, vernier calipers and bore gauges • Comfortable standing for long shifts and lifting up to 20 kg • ITI / NCVT certificate in the machinist (turner) trade preferred At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
