Join our team: we are hiring a foundry operative in Frederick County, Virginia. You will work in a non-ferrous casting shop. Requirements: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor On the job you will handle: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. Overtime paid at a premium rate. $240 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Share your details and we will call you back.
