Stainless steel welder — Reading

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Reading, England. You will be based in a food and dairy equipment factory. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) On the job you will handle: • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Carry out 6G pipe welds where required Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
