Immediate opening: bar bender and fixer (New Jersey)

Join our team: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in Sussex County, New Jersey. Day to day you will place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing; cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine; lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour. What we are looking for: • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
