Core maker — Comanche County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a core maker in Comanche County, Kansas. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. You will tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes. Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling 1+ years on the tools preferred.
