Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal The role involves: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges On-the-job training and a clear path to grow.
