Now hiring: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Edgar County, Illinois. You will work at a busy garment factory. On the job you will handle: • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line You should have: • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance Full-time with occasional weekends. $3,800 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
