Foundry worker — City of Covington

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry worker in City of Covington, Virginia. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards You will tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles.
