Brick mason — Carbon County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a brick mason in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. You will be based on a busy housing site. On the job you will handle: • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays You should have: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) $220 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
