Now hiring: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Hawaii County, Hawaii. Ideal candidate: • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks Day-to-day duties: • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. $28 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
