Immediate opening: we are hiring a civil works labourer in Butler County, Kansas. What we are looking for: • Physically fit and comfortable working at height • Punctual and ready to do overtime when a pour demands it • Know how to mix concrete and mortar to the right ratio The role involves: • Backfill and ram down soil around the foundations • Wheel barrows of rubble to the skip and keep the site clean • Set out levels with line and plumb under the mason's direction • Fix and strip shuttering and formwork for beams and columns • Pour and spread concrete, then compact it with a poker vibrator • Mix concrete and mortar to the correct ratio, by hand or in a pan mixer Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
