Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welder in Livingston County, New York. Requirements: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height On the job you will handle: • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) 5+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time, day shift. Overtime paid at a premium rate. $3,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
