Now hiring: argon welding operator (Edo)

We are recruiting: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Ovia North-East, Edo. You will be based at a busy fabrication workshop. Ideal candidate: • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection The role involves: • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
