The role involves: • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring Ideal candidate: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Performance bonus on top of base pay.
