Shakeout operator — Okanogan County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Okanogan County, Washington. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. On a typical shift you will fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity. You should have: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Basic grinding and fettling skills Part-time with flexible hours.
