Blocklayer — Black Hawk County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a blocklayer in Black Hawk County, Iowa. Your main tasks: • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb You should have: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools Performance bonus on top of base pay.
