Horizontal milling machine operator — Wayne County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a horizontal milling machine operator in Wayne County, New York. You will be based at a precision engineering workshop. Day to day you will measure features with vernier callipers, micrometers and bore gauges; set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe; load and edit CNC programs (G-code) at the Fanuc/Siemens control; machine slots, pockets, flats, keyways and contours to drawing; set spindle speeds and feed rates to suit the material and cutter; apply cutting coolant and clear swarf from the machine bed. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to stand and lift workpieces • Able to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T • Willing to work rotating shifts and night shift At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
