Immediate opening: flatlock machine operator (Alabama)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a flatlock machine operator in Sumter County, Alabama. The job is in a sampling and tailoring workshop. Ideal candidate: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line Day-to-day duties: • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
