Immediate opening: foundry worker (Maryland)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry worker in Saint Mary's County, Maryland. On a typical shift you will melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture. You should have: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
