Foundry operative — Marshall County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry operative in Marshall County, Kentucky. Day to day you will shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring. Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling We offer $2,900 per month plus benefits.
