Immediate opening: we are hiring a flatlock machine operator in Walsall, England. The job is in a sampling and tailoring workshop. Day to day you will change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance. What we are looking for: • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
