We are recruiting: foundry labourer (Illinois)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Richland County, Illinois. You will work at a brass and bronze foundry. You should have: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Day-to-day duties: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. $31 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Share your details and we will call you back.
