Brick and block layer — Jefferson County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Jefferson County, Tennessee. You will be based at a renovation and extension job. On a typical shift you will cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; forming arches, piers and reveals around openings. Requirements: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently 4+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. $2,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
