You will sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent. You should have: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols 5+ years on the tools preferred. Overtime paid at a premium rate.
