Immediate opening: we are hiring a core maker in Anderson County, Texas. Day to day you will melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. Requirements: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. Part-time with flexible hours.
