The role involves trace and fix short circuits and earthing faults; programme keys and reset immobilisers; test batteries, alternators and starter motors with a multimeter; replace blown fuses, relays and faulty switches; install alarms, immobilisers and central locking; repair headlights, indicators and brake-light circuits.
