Urgent requirement: we are hiring a foundry operative in Hamilton County, New York. You should have: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling The role involves tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes. $2,800 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
