Brick and block layer — Jim Wells County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Jim Wells County, Texas. Day to day you will cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays. Requirements: • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
