Now hiring: we are hiring an elevator technician in Laurens County, Georgia. The job is at a busy lift company. Day to day you will test buffers, final limit switches and the emergency brake; service the traction motor, brake and gearbox; rope up the traction machine and reeve the hoisting cables; set and test the overspeed governor and safety gear; replace worn sheaves, rollers, contactors and relays; measure rope tension and check for broken strands. Ideal candidate: • Ability to read electrical and wiring schematics • ITI in electrical/mechanical or an equivalent trade certificate Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
