Now hiring: we are hiring a CO2 welder in Putnam County, New York. The job is at an automobile body shop. Ideal candidate: • 2+ years on MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances On the job you will handle: • Maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose • Weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions • Set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator • Clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence • Lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. $3,400 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
