Urgent requirement: bricklayer (Kansas)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a bricklayer in Elk County, Kansas. You will be based at a residential building site. Ideal candidate: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Day to day you will forming arches, piers and reveals around openings; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
