Furnace operator wanted in Hopkins County

Now hiring: we are hiring a furnace operator in Hopkins County, Kentucky. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day-to-day duties: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes You should have: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
