Immediate opening: we are hiring a blocklayer in Saint Clair County, Michigan. You will be based on a commercial construction site. The role involves brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; laying bricks to the line, level and plumb. Requirements: • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding 5+ years on the tools preferred. Six days a week, one day off. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Pay around $3,700 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
