Now hiring: we are hiring a sample machinist in Grimes County, Texas. Requirements: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown Day to day you will inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish.
