Blocklayer — Howard County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a blocklayer in Howard County, Indiana. The role involves laying bricks to the line, level and plumb; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge. What we are looking for: • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage Full-time with occasional weekends. $200 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
