Furnace operator — Eau Claire County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a furnace operator in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. The role involves assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch. Ideal candidate: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings 6+ years on the tools preferred.
